Finisar buys Red-C Optical Networks for $43m

Finisar Corporation has acquired Red-C Optical Networks Ltd. for $43 million in cash and shares. The acquisition will broaden Finisars product lines primarily for telecom applications by adding key amplification technologies. Red-C will continue to operate as a Finisar subsidiary. The acquisition is seen as a tremendous opportunity for Finisar to further innovate for its customers and advance its vertical integration strategy. This is Finisars second presence in Israel, following its acquisition of Optium in 2008.
