Flowlit Overview

Flowlit has developed an optical and noninvasive technology for highly accurate measurements of fluid flow rates in pipes while enabling simultaneous monitoring of the density and size distribution of particles in the measured flow. The technology is based on proprietary algorithms that analyze in real time video frames recorded with a camera looking at the flow, which is illuminated by a low-power, small light source.

Unicorn Technologies is set to invest $750,000 in Flow-Lit, a private company that has developed a new method for measuring the materials flowing in pipelines (oil, gas, chemicals, water, etc.) using lasers, optics, and image processing. The investment is based on a pre-money valuation of $3.5 million. Existing investors in Flow-Lit will invest an additional $300,000 under similar terms, bringing the total fundraising to $1.05 million. The companys technology is protected by patents and is based on unique image processing algorithms that allow real-time, non-invasive measurement of the speed and flow profile of liquids or gases flowing in pipes.
