Forsight Vision 6 Overview

Forsight Vision 6 (FSV6) is developing an accommodating intraocular lens (AIOL) designed to enable precise vision across all distances after cataract surgery. The approach is differentiated, placing the lens over rather than within the capsular bag, thereby avoiding the stiffening that hinders accommodation. FSV6 was founded in the ForSight Labs ophthalmic incubator.

Forsight Vision6 drums up another $3m

ForSight Vision6, a company from ophthalmology incubator ForSight Labs, has raised $3.0 million in an equity round from a syndicate of nine unnamed investors. This follows a previous funding round of $1 million in 2015. ForSight Labs has a track record of successful spinouts, with Allergan acquiring ForSight Vision5 for $95 million. ForSight Vision6 is focused on developing the Helios ring, a drug-eluting ophthalmological implant designed to reduce intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients.
