Gaingels is a leading venture investment syndicate in support of and representing the LGBTQIA+ community and allies in the venture capital space. Gaingels also supports its companies with a diverse talent and capital pipeline and provides an internal diverse board member recruitment advisory to help bring more diversity and representation within private boards. Gaingels invests in companies with diverse/LGBTQIA+ founders and C-suite leaders at all stages of growth, as well as in other high-growth companies resolved on building more inclusive teams. Gaingels is an ardent supporter the Diversity Term Sheet Rider Initiative to increase access to venture funding events for non-traditional check writers, and regularly co-invests with select VC leads across a variety of sectors, from technology, to B2B, healthcare and consumer, in competitive and over-subscribed rounds from Seed to Growth/pre-IPO.

Most Active US Investors: Gaingels And Khosla Ventures Pick Up The Pace

In October, Khosla Ventures and Gaingels were the most active investors in U.S.-based companies, making more domestic investments in one month than either had in any previous month this year. Gaingels made 14 deals, including a $16 million Series A for Modal Labs. Khosla Ventures made 10 deals, including co-leading a $43.5 million Series A for Mojo Vision. Andreessen Horowitz made 8 deals, including a $125 million Series C for Headway. Index Ventures made 6 deals, including leading a seed round for Class Companion.

An LGBTQ health initiative at Penn just launched a 5-year partnership with investing group Gaingels - Technical.ly

The University of Pennsylvanias School of Nursing has partnered with Gaingels, a venture group that invests in LGBTQ founders, to provide support and resources to LGBTQ-led startups. The partnership will leverage academic, intellectual, and research resources across Penn through the Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative. The initiative aims to promote health within queer populations and will work with companies that address queer health. The partnership will also provide resources such as valuation analysis, insight on clinical trials, and business advisors to these startups.
