Medtech Company CSI Acquires Assets of Israeli Company Gardia for $17 Million
Cardiovascular Systems Inc. (CSI) has acquired some assets of Israel-based Gardia Medical for $17 million plus royalties, as announced by Gardias parent company Alium Medical Ltd. The assets include Gardias WIRION system, which helps reduce complications during minimally invasive interventional procedures. CSI paid $7 million during the signing of the agreement, $5.6 million of it in cash and the rest in stock, and another $10 million will be paid when the manufacturing business changes hands.

Boston Scientific Signed a Distribution Deal with Israeli Allium Medical
Allium and Boston Scientific have signed an agreement giving Boston Scientific exclusive distribution rights in the U.S. for an Allium stenting assistance system. Allium estimates that the agreement could bring in NIS 70 million ($19 million) if Boston Scientific expands the agreement to global distribution. Boston Scientific also made an upfront payment of NIS 25 million ($6.8 million) to Allium. The agreement gives Boston Scientific a three-year license to distribute Alliums products and the option to acquire all of Gardia Medicals assets and rights. Alliums stock fell nearly 14% since the announcement.
