Israeli start-up GetPackage has raised $2 million in funding from car importer Meir Group and Bar Marketing and Distribution. The company, which launched in 2017, operates a platform that allows anyone to become a courier and earn money in their spare time. The service is available nationwide and payment for delivery is made via credit card. The cost of delivery is calculated according to the distance travelled and the size of the package. The company employs more than 20 people at its offices in Rishon LeZion.

Sharing economy courier co GetPackage raises $2m
Israeli startup GetPackage, which offers a national delivery and courier service, has raised $2 million in investments from Mayer Group and Bar Marketing. The company applies the principle of the sharing economy, allowing any driver to register as a courier. GetPackage currently has 25 employees and has raised a total of NIS 16 million to date. The company is expanding its infrastructure on the US East Coast and aims to absorb the entire delivery sector. The new partners, Mayer Group and Bar Marketing, will each receive a 13% stake in GetPackage.
