Israel's H2OLL unveils first full-scale water-from-air system in Negev | CTech
Israeli company H2OLL has launched its first full-scale water production system in Wadi Attir, a Bedouin community in the Negev Desert. The system, capable of producing 1,000 liters of water per day, uses an efficient adsorption process to extract water from the air, even in low humidity environments. This innovation aims to address global water scarcity, particularly in arid regions. The project, which originated from research at the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology, was funded by a successful crowdfunding campaign that raised over 4 million shekels. H2OLL plans to expand its systems capacity and integrate solar energy, with a vision to alleviate water shortages worldwide.

חברת H2OLL פיתחה טכנולוגייה לייצור מים מהאטמוספירה - Techtime - חדשות אלקטרוניקה והייטק
H2OLL, a company founded by the Technion, has unveiled a new atmospheric water generation system based on adsorption rather than direct cooling. This technology, developed by Professors Eran Friedler and David Broday, can produce water even in arid regions while blocking chemical and biological contaminants. The first commercial system, capable of producing 1,000 liters of water per day, will be installed in the Negev as part of the Wadi Attir project. H2OLL has raised approximately 4.1 million shekels through a crowdfunding campaign launched in July 2024. The funds will be used to expand international marketing efforts, integrate the technology with solar energy, and develop a system that can produce 10,000 liters of water per day. The company is managed by CEO Yoav Kirsch, CTO Ilan Katz, and VP of Business Development Oded Distel.

The Technion-Israel Institute of Technology has developed an innovative Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) called H2OLL, which has won the Water Europe Innovation Award. The AWG converts water vapor from the air into drinkable water using Atmospheric Moisture Harvesting (AMH) technology. The H2OLL is technologically superior and can function without an external power source. It addresses the global water shortage problem and aligns with the UNs Sustainable Development Goals. The prototype has been successfully used during the COVID-19 pandemic and is on its way to becoming a company.
