Avery Dennison to pay $75m for Israeli coatings co Hanita
Avery Dennison Corporation has agreed to acquire Hanita, a pressure-sensitive materials manufacturer of specialty films and laminates, for $75 million. Hanita develops and manufactures coated, laminated, and metallized polyester films for various applications. Avery Dennison plans to leverage its global organization and brand to accelerate Hanitas product commercialization worldwide. The acquisition is expected to provide new growth opportunities and expand Avery Dennisons product portfolio. Hanita currently employs over 220 employees and generates sales in more than 40 countries. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and approvals and is expected to be completed in a few months.

Whirlpool To Use Israel's Hanita Coatings' Tech In Its Refrigerators
Hanita Coatings has been contracted by Whirlpool to provide insulation for their refrigerators. The partnership aims to develop a new generation of highly energy-efficient refrigerator insulation based on vacuum insulation panel (VIP) technology. Hanita Coatings, a private company owned by the kibbutz and Tene Investments, specializes in the development and conversion of coated films for various applications, including insulation. Whirlpool will utilize Hanitas VIPs, which are up to 8 times more effective than conventional insulation. The collaboration is expected to reduce appliance energy consumption and is supported by the BIRD Foundation, which promotes industrial research and development cooperation between the U.S. and Israel.

BIRD makes matches for Israeli tech and US business
The Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation is funding new tech projects in collaboration with Israeli start-ups and veteran companies. The foundation has selected fourteen projects to receive a total investment of $10.95 million.
