HIL Fund Overview

HIL Fund is Haifa University's pre-accelerator program for impact startups and social ventures led, run or initiated by the university students, academics and recent graduates. HIL Fund is a 6 months program helping the entrepreneurs in the very first stages of establishing their venture, starting with ideation towards an initial MVP. The program include group workshops, 1:1 mentoring and offer small grants for the program alumni's. HIL Fund is part of Haifa Innovation Labs (HIL) where students can learn and start their journey in the entrepreneurship field.

The University of Haifa has launched a student venture capital fund in partnership with fresh.fund. The fund aims to boost entrepreneurship on campus by investing in start-ups run by students, academics, and recent graduates. The partnership with fresh.fund, an Israeli early-stage venture capital fund, will provide up to $200,000 in pre-seed funding for selected start-ups. University of Haifa students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in venture capital investing through a course offered by fresh.fund. The fund will be operated by an investment committee consisting of participating students, representatives from the university, fresh.fund, and the local hi-tech industry. The launch of the fund was accompanied by a start-up pitch competition for teams based at the University of Haifa.
