Mexican startup Hola Code is providing training and job opportunities in Mexicos tech industry for returning migrants and deportees. EMK buys stake in Luminati for nearly $200m
EMK Capital LLP has agreed to acquire a majority shareholding in Luminati, the enterprise proxy network division of Hola Networks, at an enterprise value of $200m. The founders of Hola Networks will retain a significant stake in the company and Ofer Vilenski will continue as CEO of Luminati. The company, which develops internet browser add-ons aimed at making almost any content accessible to every surfer in every country, raised $29m nine years ago and a further $17m in a B round in May 2015. The companys most recent fundraising left it with $15m in cash. Holas add-on eliminates internet censorship by changing the users country of origin. The company also launched Luminati, a product that adds transparency to the business intelligence market by enabling competitors to gather business information about each other. Holas third product, HolaCDN, is a content delivery network.

Orange, a French telecommunications company, has invested in an Israel-based start-up called Hola. Hola raised $17 million in a funding round led by a strategic partnership between Orange and Publicis Groupe. This investment comes after controversy surrounding Oranges CEOs statement about cutting ties with Israel. Orange CEO Stephan Richard initially made the statement but later backtracked. Orange and its Israeli provider, Partner Communications, signed a new agreement in June that allows them to terminate their brand license agreement in the next two years.
