Honeywell, Near Earth Autonomy Test Pilot-Free Helicopter For Faster, Safer Marine Supply
Honeywell and Near Earth Autonomy have successfully completed the first autonomous test flight of a Leonardo AW139 helicopter as part of the U.S. Marine Corps Aerial Logistics Connector (ALC) program. This milestone demonstrates the potential for uncrewed, autonomous aircraft to operate in contested environments without a pilot or remote operator. The test flight, conducted in Phoenix, Arizona, marks a significant step towards providing scalable, autonomous logistics support to the U.S. Marine Corps. The collaboration aims to enhance military logistics by reducing personnel risk and increasing operational speed and scale. Future tests will focus on expanding autonomy capabilities, including automated obstacle avoidance.

Honeywell-Nextnine deal illustrates owners' dilemma: Sell or hold
Honeywell has acquired Nextnine, a cybersecurity company based in Israel, for a reported $35 million. Nextnine will become the base of Honeywells activities and R&D center in Israel. The acquisition is seen as a positive move for Honeywell, as it expands its industrial cybersecurity offerings and complements its existing cybersecurity portfolio. Nextnines software, ICS Shield, protects industrial sites from cybersecurity attacks and allows users remote access to their plants in a secure way. The deal will help Honeywell grow its cybersecurity unit and presence in Israel. Nextnine had previously received offers from other companies, but Honeywell was the best fit. The entire Nextnine team will stay on board and continue to implement their cybersecurity solutions within Honeywell.
