Image Navigation has announced the worlds most advanced image-guided implant (IGI) system for dentistry at the 2019 IDS in Cologne. The system extends the use of CBCT scanners to include intra-surgical navigation and has real-time tracking with no on-screen lag. It also has sub-millimeter accuracy and a robotic auto-stop for safety. The system integrates the advantages of freehand surgery, including unfettered vision of the surgical site, retention of the surgeons tactile feel and the application of intra-surgical clinical judgment. The dental implant market has seen significant growth in recent years, with more than eight million dental implants placed in patients across the world in 2018.
