No need to rip off a bandage: this one dissolves in water
Israeli startup Inteligels is commercializing a technology that turns a smart bandage from liquid to solid and back again. The bandage dissolves in response to a trigger such as cool water of a certain temperature. Inteligels first applications will be for chronic conditions where the pain is severe and sustained. The bandages can cover virtually any shape or size of wound and can be transparent, allowing healthcare workers and patients to view the wound underneath. They can also deliver medication when the right trigger is met. Inteligels is currently raising a $2 million round of investment.

Straight out of Star Trek: Israeli developed smart polymer aims to save billions from suffering
Israeli startup Inteligels has developed a smart bandage made of smart medical polymers that can change from solid to liquid and back again. The bandage aims to provide a painless solution for replacing bandages, particularly for burn victims or injuries that require daily replacement over a long period of time. The bandage can be applied at any angle and is transparent, allowing medical personnel to monitor the wounds condition without removing the bandage. Inteligels has also developed smart bandages that can release controlled doses of medicine. The company is currently under regulatory review and expects to launch the bandages in mid-2021. Inteligels has raised $2 million in seed funding, including $400,000 from a strategic investor from the U.S.
