Smart label startup Sensos raises $20 million Series A | CTech
Israeli smart label startup Sensos has raised $20 million in a Series A funding round led by Mitsui-backed Magenta Venture Partners, with participation from JAL Ventures, Israel Cargo Logistics and Sumitomo Corporation. Sensos labels, which are the size of a credit card, provide real-time 6-dimensional telemetry shipment data without requiring additional infrastructure. The labels have been used to digitize supply chains, enabling faster shipments, smaller inventories, and better production planning. The companys original prototype was used by Bayer in partnership with Kigen and Vodafone, and has since been purchased by DB Schenker and others.

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. has signed an agreement to acquire Perimeter 81, a Security Service Edge (SSE) company, for approximately $490 million. The acquisition aims to help organizations accelerate the adoption of secure access across various platforms while delivering a secure and fast SSE solution. Perimeter 81, which serves over 3,000 customers worldwide, offers a unique suite of capabilities, including Zero Trust Access and full mesh connectivity. Check Point plans to integrate Perimeter 81s capabilities into its Infinity architecture to deliver a unified security solution.

JAL Ventures closes $105m second Israel VC fund
JAL Ventures has closed its second fund, JAL II, with $105 million. The fund will be used to invest in post-seed and Series A rounds in early revenue stage Israeli technology companies, particularly B2B companies in sectors such as cybersecurity, enterprise software, AI and fintech. JAL II has already made five investments in B2B startups, including insurtech companies Novidea and VOOM, e-mobility company IRP, and cybersecurity company Infinipoint. The fifth investment will be announced soon. JALs first fund of $60 million was launched in 2017 and has invested in 20 companies, six of which have been acquired.

JAL Ventures raises $60m fund
Brothers Joshua and Amiran Levinberg, founders of Gilat Satellite Networks, have launched a new venture capital fund, JAL Ventures. The fund has raised $60m, which will be invested in companies with an annual sales turnover of $1m. The fund will likely focus on B2B technology and the security market. JAL Ventures has already made three investments: in cyber security company Dome9 Security; Fornova, which gathers tourism data; and Ametrine Technologies, which has developed a thermal camouflage technology.
