Johnson Electric provides motion subsystems and motion components including DC motors, brushless motors, synchronous motors, piezo motors, solenoids, microswitches, and flexible circuits. Johnson Electric has two operating divisions: the Automotive Products Group and the Industry Products Group. In 2005, Johnson Electric acquired the Israeli company Nanomotion, a piezo motor and subsystem designer and manufacturer. Nanomotion's products are targeted for markets with demanding, custom-engineered piezo motor applications including medical diagnostics, defense, and semiconductor automation.

Chinese co Johnson Electric buys 51% of Nanomotion for $20m
Chinese company Johnson Electric has acquired 51% of Israeli start-up Nanomotion for $20 million in cash. Nanomotion develops and manufactures motors for precise positioning and serves the semiconductor and medical equipment industries. The Israeli investors in Nanomotion will retain 49% of the company. Johnson Electric plans to invest additional funds in Nanomotion to help it penetrate larger markets. This acquisition is part of Johnson Electrics strategic plan to become a leader in the micro-motors field.
