Life sciences labs get an inventory overhaul
LabSuit, an innovative inventory and social-networking system for managing lab supplies, is experiencing growth as about 1,000 researchers in 200 Israeli laboratories are using the platform. The founders are raising funds to market the online service internationally. LabSuit offers three levels of service: inventory management, a social network for sharing and exchanging materials, and the ability to order materials from other laboratories and commercial suppliers. The platform aims to save time and money for laboratories and reduce waste. LabSuit is free of charge for users and is looking to expand internationally, starting with foreign doctorate and postdoc students working in Israeli academic labs.

Love story in research lab leads to new start-up idea
Labsuit, a start-up that helps lab researchers manage their inventory, equipment, orders, and supplies, has the potential to save labs large sums of money. The company provides an online method for recording lab supplies and materials, replacing the need for Excel sheets and sticky notes. It also enables labs to view inventory levels at other labs and connect with suppliers for the lowest price. Labsuit is currently being used in dozens of institutions in Israel and is in a pilot program at Utah State University. The founders aim to market Labsuit abroad and have all life sciences labs using their services.
