Light & Strong produces composite materials and develops solutions for the solar-powered, high-altitude, long-range unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) market. The company's SunSpark is a solar-powered, lightweight UAV. Its rechargeable battery charges during the day and powers flight at night. Flying at 65,000 feet, it is immune to all weather and can stay aloft for years. SunSpark can be used for agricultural monitoring. Using high-resolution infrared photography, it can detect water, nutritional strains, land degradation, and insect damage, reducing the use of water and chemical treatments. Light & Strong meets the AS9100C aeronautical standard and exclusively produces the complete fuselage and wings for the Hermes 450 UAV.

India's Lohia Group buys Israeli defense co Light & Strong

Indias Lohia Group has acquired Israeli composite company Light & Strong Ltd. The acquisition will allow Lohia Group to leverage Light & Strongs client base, including Israels Ministry of Defense, and establish India as an exporter of customized composite products to global OEMs. The acquisition is in line with the Indian governments Skill India and Make in India initiatives.
