The Engineer - AI at swimming pools could help save lives
The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) and Lynxight, an Israeli pool safety assisted lifeguard technology company, have conducted a six-month trial of an AI solution that alerts lifeguards when a swimmer is in difficulty. The technology combines AI software and swimmer behaviour analysis with standard security cameras to deliver real-time insights above and below the water, directly to a smartwatch worn by the lifeguard. GLL plans to install the Lynxight system in a number of its swimming pools over the coming months.

Lynxight Drowning Prevention Technology enters the Australian market - Australasian Leisure Management
Israeli pool software and analytics service, Lynxight, has expanded into the Australian market, being implemented at multiple BlueFit managed aquatic locations in Melbourne and Sydney. The technology assists lifeguards by running through the CCTV and feeding head counts and alerts to their watches. The system is expected to reduce staffing by up to 20% in some locations. BlueFit is also working with Lynxight to enhance the system with new alerts and dashboards. The co-founder and Commercial Lead of Lynxight will be showcasing the system to others in the industry in Melbourne and Sydney in late March.
