Mediterranean Towers Ventures, an investment fund, held a global startup competition for the elderly. Five companies made it to the finals, showcasing developments in robotics, shared economy, digital medicine, and virtual reality. The startup Reshub from Ireland, which developed a system to promote quality of life that combines local shared economy on a digital interface, won the competition. The Israeli Olive diagnostics, which developed a smart toilet seat that detects dehydration, urinary tract infections, and other medical parameters, came in second. The prize was $5,000, in addition to which the fund guarantees accompaniment, including examination of a business plan and exit strategy to markets abroad, connection to markets and potential customers, and consulting of the Canadian body cabhi (Center of aging and brain health innovation) in Canada towards entering the American market.

Mediterranean Towers Ventures, a new investment fund, has been launched to focus on innovative technologies for older adults. The fund will invest in startups that develop solutions to improve the quality of life for the elderly in all aspects of life. The fund will primarily focus on start-ups in their initial stages during the first year. Yair Seroussi, former chairman of Bank Hapoalim and chairman of the Mediterranean Towers chain, will take on the position of Chairman of the Funds investment committee.
