Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund Overview

Microsoft’s $1 billion investment initiative to accelerate technology development and deployment of new climate innovations through equity and debt capital. Microsoft is investing significantly in sustainability both to reduce the impact of their own operations and to help the world to overcome the biggest sustainability challenges—working at the intersection of technology and the natural and social sciences. This is Microsoft's first representative office of the fund outside the US. Climate start-ups are able to register and be examined by the representative office in Israel as candidates for investment.

Microsofts Climate Innovation Fund (CIF) is set to establish its first international representation in Israel. The fund aims to invest millions of dollars in local startups to support solutions to combat the climate crisis. The fund has already invested half a billion dollars in 21 startups and 12 funds in the climate sector in the US. The Israeli representation will be headed by Michal Braverman-Blumenstyk, who manages Microsoft Israel Research and Development. The fund does not have a defined budget for investment, but it may have to invest a lot of time in finding suitable startups in the field.
