Permira Completes Acquisition of Mimecast

Mimecast Limited has been acquired by funds advised by Permira for approximately $5.8 billion. The acquisition marks the beginning of a new era for Mimecast, allowing them to transform the way email security, data, and resilience are managed. With the resources and experience of Permira, Mimecast aims to deliver innovations to meet the needs of its customers. Mimecasts stock has ceased trading and the company is no longer listed on any public market. Citi served as exclusive financial advisor to Mimecast, while Goodwin Procter LLP acted as legal counsel. Qatalyst Partners acted as lead financial advisor to Permira, with BofA Securities, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, and RBC Capital Markets, LLC serving as financial advisors. The Permira funds received committed debt financing from Blackstone Credit and funds managed by Ares Management Corporations Credit Group.

Mimecast Acquires Segasec

Mimecast Limited has announced the acquisition of Segasec, a provider of digital threat protection. This acquisition allows Mimecast customers to better defend against attacks that leverage fake websites and domains for credential harvesting. The acquisition extends Mimecasts brand exploit protection using machine learning to identify potential hackers at the earliest stages of an attack. Segasecs technology monitors domains on the internet for suspected malicious activity and offers rapid takedown capabilities for active attacks. The integration of Segasec with Mimecasts email and web security services strengthens Mimecasts customers cyber resilience. The Mimecast Segasec solution enables organizations to protect against phishing scams, identify and protect against cloned websites, and block suspicious sites and active scams.

Mimecast buys Israeli cybersecurity co Solebit for $88m

UK data security company Mimecast has acquired Israeli cybersecurity company Solebit for $88 million in cash. The acquisition will enhance Mimecasts cyber resilience platform architecture and provide powerful threat protection to customers. Solebits differentiated approach to threat detection will improve Mimecasts cybersecurity and resilience efficacy. Solebits advanced threat detection capabilities are already integrated into Mimecasts Targeted Threat Protection products. With the acquisition, Solebit will become Mimecasts Israel development center.
