Next Gear Ventures raises $30m Israel auto-tech fund

Next Gear Ventures, an Israeli venture capital fund that invests in auto-tech startups, has completed a $30 million financing round. The fund will use the money to invest in early-stage Israeli companies in the smart mobility and smart cities sectors. Investors in the round include Mayers Cars and Trucks, Ituran Location and Control, Hertz, and Volvo Group. Next Gear Ventures has already seen success with its portfolio companies, with one company being acquired by Lear Corporation and others receiving a total of $150 million in follow-on investments in less than two years.
