Yitzhak (Kiki) Ohayon appointed NI GM of Israel operations
National Instruments has appointed Yitzhak Ohayon as the new general manager for its Israel operations, replacing the founder and CEO of OptimalPlus, Dan Glotter. This comes two months after National Instruments acquired OptimalPlus for $365 million. OptimalPlus, founded in 2005, developed a system for analyzing the semiconductor manufacturing process to detect faulty chips. OptimalPlus develops AI tools for the automotive, semiconductor, and electronics industries. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2020. OptimalPlus will become NIs development center in Israel, and no employees will be laid off. OptimalPlus co-founder and CEO, Danny Glotter, will step down after the deal is completed. The acquisition deal was signed during the Covid-19 crisis. OptimalPlus most recent valuation was $200 million post-money. NIs President and CEO, Eric Starkloff, stated that the addition of OptimalPlus data analytics capabilities will accelerate their growth strategy.
