Alstom takes another step towards Autonomous Train Operation in the Netherlands
Alstom, a leader in smart mobility, has successfully tested its Elta Systems Obstacle Detection System (ODS) in collaboration with ProRail and Lineas in the Netherlands. The tests demonstrated the systems ability to detect obstacles up to 1,000 meters away in various weather and visibility conditions. This development is part of Alstoms strategy to advance towards fully autonomous train operations, specifically targeting GoA4 automation levels for freight. The next phase involves integrating ODS with Automatic Train Operation (ATO) systems, aiming for complete automation by the end of the summer.
