EFI enhances Optitex software
EFI has released the latest version of its Optitex 2D/3D CAD platform, offering enhancements for fashion, apparel, and textiles. The new version allows apparel manufacturers to produce small mixed orders on a single roll, address market trends, and increase sustainability. It includes advanced automation tools, improved stitching and grading, an expanded fabric library, and an improved user interface. The release also enables full design-to-production preparation to be automated. EFI buys Israeli co Optitex for up to $52.8m
Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (EFII) has acquired Optitex, a 3D design software company for the textile industry. The deal is worth up to $52.8 million, with an upfront cash payment of $20 million. Optitex will be integrated into EFIs Productivity Software business unit. The acquisition is expected to contribute $4 million to $6 million in revenue for the balance of 2016 and be neutral to EPS during that time. Asaf Landau, CEO of Optitex, and the approximately 100 members of the Optitex team have joined EFI, with Landau serving as EFI Optitexs general manager.
