3DOptix Releases Open, Cloud-based Optical Design and Simulation Software

3DOptix has launched a free, cloud-based optical design and simulation platform that provides remote access to a virtual lab with optomechanics, lasers, and detectors. The platform aims to reduce trial and error iterations in the lab for scientists, researchers, and engineers in the optics community. The beta platform currently has about 1,000 users and offers over 20,000 optical elements from 15 different vendors. Users can run optical simulations with off-the-shelf components or customized optical elements.
