Otomedics Overview

Otomedics Ltd manufactures the Tympanostomy U-Tube (TUT), a tympanostomy tube (also known as an ear tube or ear ventilation tube) made out of medical-grade silicone. The TUT combines many advantages found separately in various types of tympanostomy tubes, making it an appropriate solution for any middle-ear ventilation or drainage problem. The tube has a conical shaft for increased ease in cleaning clogs, an ultra-polished surface to prevent adherence of crusts, and a collapse mechanism that makes removal easy and painless. The tube can be easily removed from childrens ears in the office without anesthesia after being softened with saline drops for 15 to 30 minutes.

Medical device co Otomedics signs with US distributor

Otomedics has signed a distribution agreement with Jedmed Instrument Co. for its innovative device for treating ear infections. The company has obtained FDA approval and expects to receive CE approval for selling the product in Europe. The implant, called U-Tube, was developed under a patent by Dr. David Cohen and provides a general solution to a variety of ear infections. Jedmed will be the North America distributor for the product. The response to the product at a professional convention in Las Vegas was enthusiastic.
