MassChallenge Awards $250 Thousand In Grants At First Ever Israel Accelerator Program
MassChallenge, a Massachusetts-based accelerator program, has awarded its first-ever zero-equity prizes to Israeli startups. Five companies received awards totaling 1 Million NIS ($250,000). The awards were announced at a ceremony held at the Hebrew University campus on November 9th. MassChallenge chose to expand into Israel because it considers the country to be the most startup-friendly accelerator on the planet. The winning startups include Eggxyt, which developed a way to determine the sex of chicken embryos, and StellarNova, which aims to inspire young girls to get involved in science. Three other companies also received awards. MassChallenge plans to continue working with these startups and key players in the ecosystem to create a significant impact in Jerusalem and beyond. The company has accelerators in five countries and has helped accelerate over 1,200 startups.
