Private equity firm Thoma Bravo plans to acquire cybersecurity company Proofpoint in a deal worth $12.3 billion. The acquisition is a growth-positive move for Proofpoint, indicating the high demand for cloud-based security. Thoma Bravo has a track record of acquiring cybersecurity companies, and the deal is expected to close in Q3 2021. The $12.3 billion price tag makes it the biggest cybersecurity acquisition of all time. Proofpoint, founded in 2002, offers an array of cloud-based security products and went public in 2012. Its shares have steadily grown over the years, reaching an all-time high of $140 earlier this year. The acquisition represents one of the biggest technology acquisitions ever.

Proofpoint and CyberArk extend partnership to further safeguard high-risk users
Proofpoint has extended its partnership with CyberArk to enhance the integration of their cybersecurity solutions. The partnership aims to identify and protect privileged users with high-risk access, as well as prevent phishing attempts and targeted threats. The collaboration combines Proofpoints Targeted Attack Protection with CyberArks Privileged Access Security Solution to provide layered defenses and adaptive controls. Proofpoint identifies VAPs and shares the information with CyberArk to manage access levels and revoke privileges for compromised users. The partnership reflects Proofpoints commitment to lasting partnerships with leading security firms and providing people-centric solutions worldwide.

Proofpoint leases 4 floors in Tel Aviv's Azrieli Center
Proofpoint, a US cybersecurity giant, has leased four floors in the Azrieli Centers triangular tower in Tel Aviv. The lease is for five years with an option for a further five years. The financial details of the lease were not disclosed. Proofpoint currently has 200 employees in its Tel Aviv development center, which was established through the acquisition of three Israeli cybersecurity companies. The Azrieli Group is taking advantage of Bezeqs departure to renovate the triangular tower and reconfigure the ground floor area of the Azrieli Center.

Proofpoint to Acquire Cybersecurity Company ObserveIT for $225 Million
Nasdaq-listed cybersecurity company Proofpoint Inc. has announced its definitive agreement to acquire ObserveIT Ltd. for $225 million. ObserveIT, a company specializing in internal threat management, has raised $53 million to date and has over 1,800 customers across 87 countries. The acquisition will enable Proofpoint to enhance its data loss prevention offering. ObserveITs Israeli employees will be integrated into Proofpoints Israeli research and development center. This is Proofpoints third Israeli acquisition, following its previous acquisitions of Meta Networks Ltd. and FireLayers Inc.

US cyber co Proofpoint buys Israel's Meta Networks
Proofpoint, a US cybersecurity company, has acquired Meta Networks, an Israeli startup, for $120 million. Meta Networks has developed a private cloud network service based on zero trust network access (ZTNA). The acquisition will allow Proofpoint to integrate Meta Networks ZTNA technology with its cloud access security broker (CASB) and web isolation product lines. This will provide customers with a comprehensive cloud access and security platform. The deal is expected to close during the current quarter. Proofpoint already has a development center in Israel following its acquisition of FireLayers in 2016.

Proofpoint buys cloud security co FireLayers
US cybersecurity firm Proofpoint Inc. has acquired Israeli cloud security company FireLayers for $46m in cash and $9m in shares. The Herzliya office of FireLayers will become Proofpoints Israel development centre. FireLayers CEO Yair Grindlinger said the decision to join Proofpoint was based on its high calibre cybersecurity innovation and effectiveness at protecting customers worldwide from advanced threats. The new FireLayers-powered SaaS application threat intelligence will feed the Proofpoint Nexus platform to amplify Proofpoints correlated threat intelligence across its global ecosystem.
