Clarivate to Acquire ProQuest, Creating a Leading Global Provider of Mission Critical Information and Data-Driven Solutions for Science and Research
Clarivate plc, a global leader in providing trusted information and insights to accelerate the pace of innovation, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire ProQuest, a leading global software, data and analytics provider to academic, research and national institutions, from Cambridge Information Group and other partners including Atairos, for $5.3 billion. The acquisition will establish Clarivate as a premier provider of end-to-end research intelligence solutions and significantly expand its content and data offerings. The transaction is expected to close during the third quarter of 2021.

ProQuest to buy Israeli co Ex Libris for $500m
US information solutions company ProQuest is acquiring Ex Libris Group, an Israeli software company owned by Golden Gate Capital, for a value of $500 million. The acquisition will allow the two companies to improve their existing products and accelerate innovation efforts in providing solutions for academic libraries. Ex Libris provides software solutions for libraries and was sold to Golden Gate Capital in 2012 for $250 million. The acquisition is expected to be concluded in the coming months.
