Signet Jewelers buys Israeli co R2Net for $328m
Signet Jewelers is acquiring R2Net, an Israeli ecommerce and diamond technology company, for $328 million. R2Net owns online jewelry retailer JamesAllen.com and Segoma Imaging Technologies. The acquisition will enhance Signets customer shopping experience and accelerate its digital capabilities. R2Net is known for its innovative technologies, including 360° Diamond Display Technology and Virtual Ring Sizer. R2Net CEO Oded Edelman will join Signet as Chief Digital Innovation Advisor. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of fiscal 2018.

DIAMOND RETAILER JAMES ALLEN RECEIVES $140 MILLION INVESTMENT - Israeli Diamond
R2Net, the owner of JamesAllen.com, has received a $140 million investment from equity firm Francisco Partners, giving them a near 50% stake in the company. This investment values R2Net at approximately $300 million. Francisco Partners is impressed with JamesAllen.coms use of innovative technology to simplify the diamond buying process and provide better pricing and value to consumers. JamesAllen.com has experienced significant growth in the past two years, thanks to its 360° Diamond Display Technology and virtual showroom experience.

Online diamonds wholesaler and retailer R2Net raises $25 million
R2Net LLC, an online wholesaler and retailer of bridal jewelry and loose diamonds, has raised $25 million in outside funding. The funding will be used to continue growing both its wholesale and retail markets. Israel Growth Partners, a private equity investment firm, provided the funding and its principals have joined R2Nets board of directors. R2Net has also acquired companies specializing in diamond-imaging technology and augmented reality. The companys retail site, JamesAllen.com, has been using digital imaging technology in its in-store boutiques to enhance the customer experience. R2Nets main competitor in online jewelry sales is Blue Nile Inc.
