Rapid7 acquires threat intelligence platform IntSights for $335M
Rapid7, a data and analytics security solutions provider, has acquired threat intelligence platform developer IntSights for $335 million in cash and stock. The acquisition will allow Rapid7 to combine its existing threat intelligence technologies with IntSights’ threat detection and remediation capabilities into a single customer offering. The move comes as the global cybersecurity market is expected to grow from $152 billion in 2018 to $250 billion by 2023. IntSights, which had raised $71.3 million in venture capital from Qumra Capital, Blumberg Capital, and others, has a customer base that includes brands like Blackstone, American Eagle Outfitters, Caesars Entertainment, Gett, and Wipro.

Rapid7 buys Tel Aviv-based cybersecurity co Alcide
US security and analytics provider Rapid7 is acquiring Israeli startup Alcide IO for $50 million. Alcide, a developer of a security and control platform for Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructures, will become Rapid7s development center in Israel. Most of Alcides employees will continue to work under Rapid7, but some will be laid off as Alcide will cease to have independent marketing and sales. The deal also includes bonuses to retain the existing team and an undisclosed amount for expanding the Israeli development center.
