Elron and Rafael amend RDC collaboration

Elron Electronic Industries and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems have amended their agreement to allow Rafael Development Corp. to continue commercializing Rafael technologies without time restrictions. Elron will make a one-time investment of $4 million in Rafael Development Corp. and commit to further investments of $750,000 for each company established by Rafael Development Corp. based on Rafaels technologies. The amended contract settles all claims between the companies and resolves other issues, facilitating cooperation. The collaboration between Elron and Rafael has resulted in the creation of successful companies, including Given Imaging Ltd. Elron sees Rafael Development Corp. as a major value driver. Other portfolio companies of Rafael Development Corp. include Starling Advanced Communications Ltd., 3DV Systems Ltd., Galil Medical Ltd., and SELA - Semiconductor Engineering Laboratories Ltd.
