The Israelis leading the fight against cyberattacks on the banks
In February 2016, hackers stole $850 million from the Bangladeshi central banks interbank money transfer system. The breach was discovered due to a spelling mistake, and $81 million was recovered. The banks are now working with a group of seven Israeli cyber experts to set up a system for exchanging information and analyzing attacks. The group includes Lloyds, Santander, Barclays, and Deutsche Bank. The experts provide their services for free in order to gain exposure to client needs and limitations, and to learn how to sell to the banks. The banks are the biggest target for cyberattacks, and the transition to digital has made them more vulnerable. The need for creative cybersecurity solutions is greater than ever.
