Startup, Sheba Developing Saliva Test For Mouth Cancers
Jerusalem-based startup Salignostics is partnering with ARC, the innovation department of Sheba Medical Center, to develop a saliva-based diagnostic tool for oral cavity cancer. This will be the first saliva-based diagnostic tool for cancer. The test aims to address the lack of an effective early detection tool for oral cavity cancer, which has a five-year survival rate of just 50%. The team plans to explore the potential for diagnosing other cancers once they have established proof of concept.
