Samurai Incubate launches new fund focused on Israeli and Japanese startups
Tokyo-based incubator and investment firm Samurai Incubate has announced it is forming a new fund, Samurai Incubate Fund No. 5. The firm has also invested in two Israeli-based startups, Aniwo and an undisclosed company, using funds from Samurai Incubates No. 4 fund. The company has already raised about 500 million yen ($4.2 million) for the new fund and aims to raise about 1 billion to 2 billion yen ($8.3 million to $16.7 million) by the time the funding is closed in June. The company plans to invest in about 70 promising startups discovered through its startup showcase events.
