ParaZero and Sightec Partner to Develop Revolutionary Safety Solution for Drones & Urban Air Mobility Aircraft
ParaZero has partnered with Sightec to develop advanced safety systems for drones and urban air mobility vehicles. Largest-ever funding round from the European Innovation Council Accelerator with 99 innovative companies set to receive EUR 627 million
The EIC Accelerator has selected several innovative companies to receive grants and/or equity investments. The selected companies are working on projects such as smart reusable packaging, data-driven drug discovery, biodegradable textile fibers, and more. The companies span 21 countries and include both established and widening countries. The demand for EIC equity investments is high, with 65 out of 99 companies requesting investments totaling up to EUR 414 million. The companies will receive grant financing in the coming months, while the equity investments may take longer to implement. The EIC Accelerator continues to accept ideas from start-ups and SMEs.

Cohort and partners announced for the Future of Air Mobility Accelerator programme - Connected Places Catapult
Connected Places Catapult has announced the selection of 11 SMEs to join the first cohort of the Future of Air Mobility Accelerator programme. The five-month programme, in partnership with UK Research and Innovation’s Future Flight Challenge, is focused on scaling disruptive technologies in areas of Data Driven Aviation, Smart Airports and Advanced Air Mobility. The SMEs will receive support from a consortium of industry partners, academic institutions and regulatory bodies, including Supernal, GKN Aerospace, UK Civil Aviation Authority, Heathrow Airport, AGS Airports, BSI, Cranfield University and Coventry University.

In 'first,' delivery drone gets to destination in Israel without GPS signal
Israeli startup Sightec has achieved a worldwide first by successfully flying a civilian drone to its destination without GPS navigation tools. The test flight was part of a tender issued by the Israeli Ministry of Transport and other authorities to test and demonstrate drone technologies. Sightecs software, called NavSight, uses computer vision and artificial intelligence to enable drones to see and understand their surroundings like a human pilot. The software turns the drones camera into a smart sensor, allowing it to identify its location in real time. The success of the test is a significant milestone towards the approval of drone delivery operations in Israel.

Drone Vision Startup Sightec Raises $2 Million
Tel Aviv-based computer vision startup Sightec has raised $2 million in seed funding from Sherpa InnoVentures and Playfair Capital. Sightec develops an artificial intelligence and computer vision-based spatial navigation system for autonomous aerial vehicles. The funding will be used to expand the team and for research and development purposes. Assaf Shechner, former director of products at Mobileye, has been appointed as vice president of product.

Alpha Unmanned Systems and Sightec Form Partnership
Alpha Unmanned Systems gasoline-powered helicopter drone, the Alpha 800, now features Sightec software that enables it to capture crisper images and detect moving objects. The software eliminates vibrations on multiple axes, making the recorded images easier to analyze. This advancement is beneficial for applications such as border surveillance and infrastructure inspection. The use of Sightec significantly reduces the man-hours previously required for detecting moving objects. The Alpha 800, flying at 1,100 meters altitude over Jaén, Spain, captured crystal clear imagery. This technology improvement is expected to drive growth for Alpha Unmanned Systems.
