Sphinx Smarthead Technologies has developed a consumer medical device that provides a natural and highly effective treatment for head lice. Similar in appearance to a hair clipper, the NitEx is designed to be passed through the hair, where it sends a flow of steam parallel to the scalp, instantly exterminating lice and nits. The completely natural treatment is easy to perform and can reduce re-infestation through 5 to 10 minutes of daily use, providing parents and kids with much-needed peace of mind during an infestation. The devices highly controlled directional steam flow eliminates any chance of discomfort. The company has completed successful testing, with operational prototypes achieving high efficacy rates. The commercial product will be CE and FDA certified.
