State of Mind Ventures General Partner Nir Adler discusses the state of venture capitalism in 2022. He emphasizes the need for growth to be efficient and sustainable, and predicts that growth investors who led equity rounds in 2021 at high valuations will face significant challenges. He also expects downrounds for high valuation companies that still burn money in 2023. Adler suggests that the recession in the U.S. economy and high long-term interest rates will negatively impact the Israeli market. He advises enterprise software companies to focus on defense and lower ACVs. Layoffs are seen as a temporary solution, but structural changes are needed.
