An Israeli company will grow dwarf melons with edible rind in Spain

Israeli company Superfruiter is planning to enter the European market with an initial investment of 5 million euros. The company, which specializes in genomic selection to develop dwarf melons with edible rind, has chosen Spain as its launch point. Superfruiter is already conducting trials in Almeria and Murcia and plans to expand to Extremadura and Castilla-La Mancha. The company is also in negotiations with supermarket chains in the EU and the UK, and renowned chefs to include their mini melons in their menus. Superfruiter aims to consolidate its global market presence from Spain by 2025 and achieve a turnover of 100 million euros by 2030.
