SuperTrans Medical supported by U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) in developing its lead antibiotic against urgent threat drug resistant bacteria
SuperTrans Medical has announced that the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) will be supporting additional development efforts of its lead clinical candidate, STM-001. The support from the NIH will serve to further strengthen existing pre-clinical efficacy data for STM-001, a precision antimicrobial therapeutic being developed to combat antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections. The drug is set to enter a Phase 1 clinical trial in Australia in H1 2022. SuperTrans Medicals Intelligent RepurposingTM strategy aims to retarget commonly used antibiotics to generate highly meaningful therapeutics. The company is committed to an expedited development program and has a biotech R&D hub in Ness Ziona, Israel.

SuperTrans Medical appoints Australian partners to provide crucial clinical research in the battle against drug-resistant bacteria
SuperTrans Medical has appointed three Australian companies as key clinical research partners for an upcoming clinical drug trial. The trial aims to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and develop a new antibiotic. The appointed companies, CMAX, Avance Clinical, and Agilex Biolabs, will conduct Phase 1 human clinical trials in Australia in 2021. SuperTrans Medicals patented Intelligent Repurposing™ technology will be used in the drug, which involves attaching a permeator unit to an existing antibiotic to enhance its effectiveness against bacterial pathogens. The company plans to begin clinical trials for complicated Urinary Tract Infections (cUTIs) later this year. The trial is expected to take place in Adelaide, Australia.
