כלכלת הנגב והסטארטאפים בדרום במשבר קיומי
The Negev economy and southern startups are in an existential crisis due to war, lack of investment, and widespread military recruitment. This was revealed at an emergency conference held recently in the Innovation Quarter in Beer Sheva, with the CEO of the Innovation Authority and representatives of the southern ecosystem, including InGev, Kangav, and Pinsky, which are working to establish southern high-tech companies. The Innovation Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, has opened a dedicated budget of NIS 400 million to be allocated in fast processes for initiatives that apply and are found eligible for this rapid support. The goal is to strengthen and enable the high-tech industry to end the state of war when it is ready for a leap and strengthen the economic sector in Israel and especially in the south.

The Israeli startup community, particularly in the south, is facing a crisis due to the war, lack of investments, and widespread military recruitment. An emergency meeting was held in Beer Sheva with representatives from the Innovation Authority and the Israeli Space Agency. The main concern is that many will return from the military and either have no livelihood or their startup will no longer exist. The Innovation Authority has developed a fast track for financial aid, with a dedicated budget of 400 million NIS. The aid will be allocated quickly to eligible initiatives.
