Tel Aviv-based video-on-demand startup Vonetize is shifting towards addressable TV, a collection of new technologies that allow advertisers to target TV viewers with individualized ads. Vonetize recently acquired video advertising startup Takoomi and plans to expand its business into customizable targeted ads based on user data. The company aims to tap into the non-premium content market and maximize advertising profits by providing relevant commercials to viewers. Vonetize is not the first Israeli-linked company to recognize the potential of addressable TV, with video marketing company Innovid also entering the market.
