Tenaya Capital Closes 'Oversubscribed' $372M Fund, Seeks A New Kayak
Tenaya Capital, a venture fund spun out of Lehman Brothers, has closed its latest fund at $372 million. The fund will be used to make investments in tech companies across various sectors. The average size of initial investments will be between $5 million and $10 million. Tenaya has the option to invest up to 20% of the fund outside of the U.S. but will mainly focus on Silicon Valley companies. The companys main focus outside of the U.S. is China, with holdings in the travel site Qunar. Tenaya will focus on enterprise software, consumer internet, IT infrastructure, communications, and electronics. The company has a strong track record with notable startups and has $1 billion under management.
