Tengable is developing a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) technology into an innovative tiny device that is implanted under the skin and is connected to the nearest healthy sensory nerve. The company's device transforms mechanical energy into electricity which subsequently stimulates the nerve to restore tactile sensation in the patient. The device is self-powered, biocompatible and maintenance free.
