Neil Wigan, the outgoing UK Ambassador to Israel, has reflected on his time in the role, highlighting the partnerships between the two countries in technology and science as a point of pride. During his tenure, the UK-Israel Tech Hub, a non-profit established in 2011, facilitated 250 tech partnerships, generated £1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Israel to the UK, and created 16,000 UK jobs. Wigan also praised Israels ability to turn academic research into business propositions. The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries, currently under negotiation, was also discussed.
