The Platform Overview

The Platform is an entrepreneurship and innovation center with a vision of developing and promoting entrepreneurship and innovative urbansocial initiatives to improve the quality of life in the south Tel Aviv Neve Shaanan neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods. Through the Platform The Tel Aviv Municipality is harnessing Tel Aviv's startup ecosystem and talent with the aim of disrupting the way cities are approaching their challenges.The Platform hosts an international accelerator at the forefront of urban innovation. In addition, the platform serves as a capacity- building entrepreneurship center for local communities, providing training and access to the tools of entrepreneurship. The Platform is run by Tel Aviv Global, a company managed by the Tel Aviv mayors office with a goal of increasing the citys global brand via economic development, tourism, and strategic communication.

Tel Aviv brings startup spirit to city's seedy south with municipal incubator

The Tel Aviv municipality has partnered with veterans of the armys elite Unit 8200 to promote urban-social entrepreneurship in the poorer neighborhood of Neve Shaanan. The municipality has established a new center called Haratzif, which aims to provide fledgling businesses and entrepreneurs with the tools they need to have a positive impact on society. By teaming up with Unit 8200 alumni, the municipality hopes to attract applicants and hit the ground running. The center will offer lectures, workshops, and mentorships. The initiative is part of the citys effort to improve the lives of its citizens and give less privileged neighborhoods a taste of the Startup Nation thrill. The center will select entrepreneurs to join a five-month accelerator program to address social problems.
