Israeli startup Torr FoodTech has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round led by Harel Insurance Investment and Financial Services. The company has developed technology that combines mechanical pressure and ultrasonic energy to press ingredients together in the production of snack bars and other food products. Torrs technology eliminates the need for sugar binders and artificial ingredients, allowing for healthier snack options. The funding will be used to accelerate the commercialization of new products and the launch of a new consumer-facing brand in select European markets. Torrs snack bars made with their technology have already been launched by Mondelēz in the U.S. and in Israel under Strausss Upland brand.
