Tortech Nano Fibers Overview
Tortech develops and industrializes a patented process for the manufacture of ultra-long carbon nanotube (CNT) mats and fibers for a wide range of commercial applications. Tortech's CNT mats and fibers are composed solely of pure ultra-long CNTs without any addition of binders, making them lightweight, corrosion resistant, and highly conductive. They are used in a variety of applications, including electromagnetic interference shielding, conductive ultrafiltration membranes, energy storage, armor, and heat management systems. Tortech Nano Fibers was founded in 2010 as a joint venture between Plasan Sasa Ltd (Israel) and Q-Flo Ltd (United Kingdom), a spin-out company from Cambridge University.

Q-Flo: progress towards a materials revolution - Cambridge Enterprise
Q-Flo, a University of Cambridge spin-out, has been working on novel technology to create continuous and self-assembled carbon nanotubes. The company has partnered with TorTech Nano Fibers to scale up production. Through further research, Q-Flo discovered that the later part of the production process was more important for increasing production rates. This led to the launch of the Advanced Nanotube Application and Manufacturing Initiative (ANAM) in 2014, which received funding from EPSRC and industrial partners.
