Škoda turns to an Israeli startup for help in combating Covid
Israeli high-tech company Matter won Škoda Auto DigiLabs global online hackathon focused on COVID-related challenges in the automotive industry. Matters 3D virtual showroom technology impressed the panel of experts, and they will now be supported by Škoda Auto DigiLab. There is a possibility of future collaboration with the Czech car manufacturers innovation lab.

Škoda, a car manufacturer based in the Czech Republic, will be adopting Israeli technology from Matter to combat the novel coronavirus. Matter, an Israeli tech start-up, presented a 3D virtual showroom during a hackathon organized by ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab and ŠKODA AUTO. The technology aims to address the challenges faced by car manufacturers and retail locations during the pandemic, such as social distancing measures and remote car viewing. Škoda chose Matter as the winner of the hackathon and will be supporting the start-up in implementing their technology. Matter currently uses the same technology to create 3D immersive digital property tours in the real estate sector. ŠKODA AUTO Chief Digital Officer, Andre Wehner, expressed the companys intention to leverage digital solutions to cater to the needs of their customers more effectively.
